  2.             Intel ActionMedia(r) II board drivers for
  3.             use with Microsoft's Video For Windows(tm)

  6. The file AM2_DRV.ZIP when properly unzipped on your c drive in a  
  7. directory called AM2BUILD will produce a build structure necessary
  8. to produce a four disk set of installable drivers.  These drivers 
  9. will enable the Intel ActionMedia II board to work with Microsoft's 
  10. Video For Windows.
  11.  
  12. ** This set of drivers does not include a motion video sample file or
  13.    many of the stills that appear in the shrink wrapped version of the
  14.    driver set version 1.2. This saves over 1 MByte of space.

  16. Directions:

  18.                Building an installable disk set
  19.  
  20. Create a directory on your c drive called AM2BUILD.  Using your 
  21. pkunzip utility decompress the file AM2_DRV.ZIP into the directory 
  22. c:\AM2BUILD using the -d option.  Use the following commands to 
  23. unzip the file and retain the directory structure:

  25.               c:\AM2BUILD\pkunzip -d am2_drv.zip

  28. From DOS run the batch file AM2_DRV.BAT with your first target
  29. disk in the A drive and include the version number of the driver
  30. set you are building (V1_2).  If your target drive is A use the 
  31. following command from DOS:

  33.              c:\AM2BUILD\am2_drv a: V1_2
  34.  
  35.          Installing the drivers on your system from Windows
  36.  
  37. Be sure that you have run the ActionMedia II board setup utility
  38. at least once with your current hardware configuration.  The driver
  39. installation program requires a file called AM.CFG that is created 
  40. by the setup utility AMSETUP.EXE otherwise the install program will
  41. use default settings that may not be compatible with your hardware
  42. environment.

  44. ** The setup program is included in the AM2WIN.ZIP file.  THIS
  45.    PROGRAM MUST BE RUN WITH THE ACTIONMEDIA(R) II BOARD "REMOVED".

  47. To install the drivers run A:\install from Windows and follow the  
  48. directions on the screen.  You will need at least 3 MBytes of free
  49. memory on your hard disk.

  51. AFTER installing these drivers from Windows you can install Microsoft's 
  52. Video for Windows(tm) and load the Indeo(tm) Video driver from the 
  53. drivers section in the control panel of Windows.  Once the Indeo(tm) 
  54. Video driver is installed capture and playback of Indeo(tm) Video [.avi] 
  55. files with your Intel ActionMedia(r) II board will be enabled.
